Worldspark Studios secures $3M in Seed Funding for Edenbrawl and more!
We did it! After gritting and grinding out a playable slice true indie development style, we’ve officially closed our $3M seed round to create the Worldspark Ecosystem and our first game, Edenbrawl!
The seed round is being led by our partners at Animoca Brands and Shima Capital. Additional investors include AAG Ventures, Alameda Ventures, Double Peak Group, Forward Analytics, Infinity Ventures Crypto, Jump Capital, LD Capital, Lucid Blue Ventures, Moon Holdings, Onchain Group, Pillar VC, Sfermion, SL2 Capital, ViaBTC, and YGGSEA.
With 60+ investors interested in participating in the round, these strategic partners were hand selected based on the shared vision for what Worldspark aims to become. Worldspark’s strengths lie largely in the traditional AAA gaming space so we’ll lean heavily on our seed partners to fill our gaps and bring the best possible product to market!
Prior to this seed round, Edenbrawl had been 100% self-funded with zero full-time employees. While we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve put together under those circumstances, the funding will take our progress to the next level as we’re finally enabled to hire AAA gaming experts with experience in building IP and shipping competitive titles.
While Edenbrawl’s playable alpha is already in a fantastic state, the true journey is just beginning. The dream to build a studio and create games to compete with the massive corporate players in the space has always been just that, a dream. With the rapid growth of Blockchain and the incredible opportunities it presents, our dream is becoming a reality and we’re ecstatic to engage our community to build the best studio and products possible!

Worldspark Studios is a passion-driven, independent game development studio dedicated to creating multiplayer experiences that grip you with adrenaline in hour one and keep you engaged with depth and strategy at hour 10,000.
Worldspark values the social connections that can only be made through gaming, which is why we design specifically around social features, accessibility, and new player experience to ensure our games can be enjoyed by all. With lofty AAA-quality aspirations, Worldspark has built an incredible squad of industry veterans, making up what we think is by far the best team in blockchain gaming. Of our four executives across Product, Creative, Narrative, and Engineering, three come from Riot with the final coming from Bungie, combining for a total of 50+ years of experience creating AAA titles. Additional employees include former Directors at companies such as Blizzard, Ubisoft, and Bioware. We’ll have additional announcements on our team as they come on board officially!
The Focus
Worldspark is games first, blockchain second. We’ve seen many projects roll out with fancy tokenomics graphs and grand plans about blockchain economy, all of which are accompanied by a short gameplay video or a couple sentences about what you do in the game. These games make design decisions based on blockchain, rather than making blockchain decisions based on game design.
Worldspark is different. We believe in competitive, gameplay-first games that have you begging to play more because it’s fun, not because it’s lucrative (that’s a bonus though!). It may be cheesy, but there’s a huge difference between “Play AND Earn” vs “Play TO Earn”. Worldspark’s ultimate goal is to serve as the on-ramp for traditional gamers to become traditional gamers and for that to happen, we need to 1. Reduce the knowledge barrier of entry for crypto in games and 2. Make a badass game that you want to play for hours on end.
The Vision
Worldspark is here for the long haul as a studio, not just a single game. This means developing a memorable IP with deep characters that belong to an ever-evolving world. To that end, Worldspark is developing an ecosystem around our world of “Eden”. This takes shape in the form of a “hub world” that players can create their own Avatar and truly live in our brand new world. This hub world connects to each of our future games, starting with Edenbrawl!
There’s a million metaverse concepts out there and it’s important to note that an interoperable, unlimited possibility metaverse is not our goal. Our hub world is the connection between our games, creating a shared economy and shared sense of purpose. Our favorite analogy for this is an arcade. When you go to the arcade with your friends, you meet in the lobby to socialize and group up. From there, you’ll take off toward the main floor to play whatever arcade machine you want. Eden is out lobby and Edenbrawl is our first Arcade machine. This connected economy allows us to do amazing things like unlocking bobbleheads for player housing based on the number of kills you get as a champion in Edenbrawl. Whatever you do or purchase in our ecosystem, it ties in to multiple streams of progression and has multiple avenues of use. Big Value!
Finally, it’s worth noting that our IP uniquely focuses on happiness and empowerment. We’re building a world designed specifically to make people smile. Our characters fail, often in hilarious ways, they face overwhelming adversity, yet meet it with optimism. Our way of fighting the recent toxicity overtaking the gaming world is by filling our players with hope. Don’t just believe in yourself, believe in the Eden that believes in you!
About Edenbrawl:
And finally, Edenbrawl! Edenbrawl will be the first official game released by Worldspark. It combines the action combat of a brawler with the endless depth of a MOBA to create a “Mobrawler”, a unique experience that grips you match 1 and keeps you engaged at match 10,000.
With intense WASD skill-based combat, unique champion playstyles, streamlined player agency, and our unique ‘Edenball’ game mode, Edenbrawl creates an addicting multiplayer experience where no match is like the last. Edenbrawl aims to be the first truly competitive/esports ready game on the blockchain. That means absolutely zero pay-to-win elements and all NFTs are restricted to cosmetic use only.
